Chances and choices

Today is Monday. I am a sucker for new beginnings, like the start of a day, a week, a month, the year, a job, a new chapter in life; you get the drift. A chance to start or try again. Like being handed a new lease of life that is ripe with endless possibilities. And it all comes down to the choices we make.

Today I choose to put my thoughts out there. My high school principal instilled a mantra in us. Chances, choices, and consequences. Several years down the line, it still rings true, and I live by it. Aware that there will be consequences, I am doing this anyway, AFRAID.

See, I am a very private person, always have been. One might say that I am an introvert. I have an entire inner world that dominates my day-to-day life. I did not accept my true nature for many years.

As I have grown older, I have met more and more people who are like me. In a sense, that awakened my sense of self. And the more I have embraced it, the more I have found peace and balance. Not forgetting some borrowed confidence.

I write to express myself. I have been dying to share some of the conversations in my head with someone who resonates, aside from close friends. Our journeys are unique, but there is a lot we can learn from each other to lighten the loads we carry.

As I transcend self-imposed perfectionism and procrastination, defying my long-standing boundaries, I am happy to share some of the lessons I have learned.

Be weird, be messy, be classy, be all that you are, be unapologetic!
