I woke up today feeling adventurous. A voice from within keeps daring me to do something that scares me. The voice is booming today; it has me hyperventilating. If you are reading this, then I conquered a fear!

What is your biggest fear at this moment? For the longest time, mine has been stepping out of my cocoon and into the unknown in many areas of my life. I thrive in confined and controlled settings and situations. However, lately, I have been feeling uncomfortable in my comfort zones.

I have big dreams for my life. The desire to explore the unknown has been growing, a feeling continually questioned by raging fear. What lies on the other side? What if I fail? What if I am not good enough? How will people take it? And the list of questions goes on.

Fear has been stewing within me for longer than I cared to admit to myself, let alone friends. I am thriving from an outsider’s perspective, but I am scared, stuck, and unfulfilled.

If you relate to this, the power to overcome any fear lies within you. By acknowledging it and facing it head-on, its power and hold on us begin to dissipate. Stick with it, and the payoff will be huge! Sometimes, it may take longer than a day to become accustomed to the new state of affairs.

All we need is a change of perspective. If you fail, then you have just learned one way not to do it! Besides, life is not a rehearsal. It is happening at this moment, and tomorrow is not promised. Then, why not live out your dreams today? And if tomorrow comes, build on what you achieved today. If you fail, pick yourself up, dust off, and keep moving.

Stop overthinking. Embrace fear. Take a leap of faith and do it today! Shine your light, whatever that means for you, because therein lies your life purpose.

For me, this marks the beginning of an adventure-filled life!
